Grants & Courses Sports Leadership Grants and Scholarships for Women Applications are now open for the 2010-11 round of the ASC and OfW's Sports Leadership Grants and Scholarships for Women. These Australian Government grants and scholarships are offered to inspire and assist women in the sports industry to reach their full potential in leadership, through education and development opportunities. The ASC invites women from all areas and levels of the Australian sports community to apply, including women involved in sport as managers, administrators, media and communication officers, coaches, officials, and women in sport governance. Women from culturally diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, women in rural and regional areas and women with disability are encouraged to apply. The grants include scholarships for women in upper sports management of up to $10,000 a year for three years, one-off grants of up to $5,000 for individuals and up to $10,000 for approved organisations. Last year's grants supported 132 projects across the country in developing women's leadership skills in their sport. Now in its ninth year, these grants have supported more than 16,000 women around Australia. Applications close on Friday 30 April 2010. Terms and conditions apply. Active Club Program
The opening date of Round two of the 2009 - 10 Active Club Program has been brought forward with applications now welcome from Saturday 6 February!
The Active Club Program supports clubs at a grassroots level by providing active recreation and sport funding under three categories:
1. Programs and Equipment
2. Facilities
3. Programs to engage Youth At Risk (YAR)

Scholarships are available in the following 5 categories: Wendy Ey Memorial Coaching Scholarships for women Aimed at female coaches with a minimal Level 1 Coaching Accreditation, to encourage and assist them to achieve success in their chosen sport. ORS Coaching Scholarships
Aim to assist volunteer coaches to further develop skills in their chosen area. ORS Officiating Scholarships
Aim to assist volunteer officials to futher develop skills in their chosen area. Individual Sport & Recreation Volunteer Scholarships
Aim to provide opportunities for sport & recreation volunteers to attend training programs to assist with development of skills required in their volunteering role. These scholarships are aimed at volunteer roles outside of coaching and officiating.
Sport & Recreation Associations Volunteer Scholarships
Aim to proide financial assistance to SA metropolitan and regional active recreation and sporting associations to train their valuable volunteers in areas identified as essential to their role in sport. Applicants must be a SA active recreation or sporting association which includes associations that sit under a state sporting/recreation organisation who usually conduct competitions (e.g. Onkaparinga Tennis Association, SA Districts Netball Association, Adelaide Plains Basketball Association, Great Flinders Football League). These scholarships are aimed at volunteer roles outside of coaching and officiating.
